With the increasing volume of ship traffic and fisheries activities, an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of tidal currents in these waters is very important. This study aims to model tidal currents in the waters of Paotere Port, Makassar, South Sulawesi conducted from Januari 17th to February 14th 2024, with data collection for 29 days which includes measurements of water level and current velocity. The tidal data were analyzed using the Admiralty method to determine the harmonic constant, while the current modeling was done with MIKE 21 software. The results showed that the highest tide was recorded on January 25th with a water level of 196 cm, while the lowest tide occurred on February 6th with a water level of 53 cm. The maximum current velocity was recorded at 0.031 m/s during high tide, while the lowest velocity reached 0.0009 m/s during low tide. Correlation analysis between tides and current velocity showed a significant positive relationship with a correlation coefficient value of r = 0.09195. This study provides important insights into the current dynamics in Paotere Port waters and can be used as a basis for better management of coastal resources in the area.
2025-12-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Airaha https://jurnalairaha.polikpsorong.ac.id/index.php?journal=airaha&page=article&op=view&path%5B%5D=768 The Effect of Time of Artemia Administration on the Growth and Survival of Humpback Grouper Larvae (Cromileptes altivelis) 2025-12-08T11:39:26+00:00 Syofriani Syofriani afandi.saputra38@gmail.com Afandi Saputra afandi.saputra38@gmail.com Hary Krettiawan afandi.saputra38@gmail.com Erni Marlina afandi.saputra38@gmail.com Sri Budiani Samsuharapan afandi.saputra38@gmail.com
The humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) is an economically significant fish with high
demand. The vessel sustained significant damage, requiring modification of the hatch and replacement of the main engine. This incident was triggered by an accident, but the lack of information regarding the vessel's performance was a contributing factor. Therefore, a seakeeping analysis is necessary to prevent similar accidents from reoccurring. The strip theory method was applied with four variations of sea state conditions: light sea state (Hs = 1 m, Tp = 4.82 s), moderate sea state (Hs = 2 m, Tp = 6.11 s), rough sea state (Hs = 3 m, Tp = 7.69 s), and very rough sea state (Hs = 5 m, Tp = 11.63 s), using the JONSWAP spectrum and five wave directions. A comparative analysis between condition X0 (pre-modification) and X1 (post-modification) revealed no significant differences in heave and pitch motions. While roll responses were nearly identical, the roll motion in X1 occurred at a lower encounter frequency than in X0. A more detailed seakeeping performance assessment of X1 indicated that the roll and pitch motions complied with seakeeping criteria only at wave heights of 1 to 1.5 meters. Beyond this range, the vessel failed to meet operability criteria. Based on lateral and vertical acceleration thresholds, the vessel demonstrated reasonably good performance. Consequently, the vessel is recommended to operate under slight sea state conditions (Hs = 1-1.5 m).
2025-12-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Airaha https://jurnalairaha.polikpsorong.ac.id/index.php?journal=airaha&page=article&op=view&path%5B%5D=698 Analysis of Water Quality Effect on the Mapping of Seagrass Cover in Buhung Pitue Island, Sinjai Regency 2025-12-08T11:39:53+00:00 Anisa Aulia Sabilah anisa.auliasabilah.aas@gmail.com Dwi Rosalina myrafirifky@gmail.com Katarina Hesty Rombe kathesrombe@apps.ipb.ac.id Adiara Firdhita Alam Nasyrah adiarafirdhita.alamnasyrah@unsulbar.ac.id
The condition of seagrass beds in a water body can be determined by assessing seagrass cover. Without an optimised lubrication system, diesel engine components can wear out quickly, the engine can easily overheat, and its performance will decrease. Eventually, this will shorten engine life and increase maintenance and repair costs. This research aims to analyse the performance of the lubrication system in the main engine, especially at the pressure and temperature. The method used is the observation method, with data collection techniques carried out by systematically observing and recording phenomena that occur at the pressure and temperature of the lubricating oil and the lubricating oil cooling water. The engine is a Hansin diesel engine with six cylinders and 2000 HP. Data was taken at 165-200 rpm. The average temperature of the lubricating oil out of the main engine is 69oC after being cooled by the oil coller, the temperature of the lubricating oil drops to 52oC, with a lubricating oil pressure of 2.1 kg/cm². The cooling process results in the lubricating oil temperature being reduced by 17oC. Lubricating oil cooling in diesel engine operations can be considered less than optimal because ideally the temperature of lubricating oil according to the manual book ranges from 37-47ºC after being cooled by seawater. From these conditions, it is necessary to maintain the lubrication system, especially the oil cooler.

Keywords: Lubricating Oil 1; Temperature 2; Pressure 3

2025-12-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Airaha
