Spawning Period Acceleration of Whiteleg Shrimp Broodstock With Environmental Manipulation Method
Abstract
Spawning was the process of mating between male and female broodstock by releasing eggs and sperm that occur externally. Environmental manipulation (lighting period) was an effort and process of shrimp spawning time with the help of different light. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of light on the acceleration of spawning. The light used in this study is a 36-watt white lamp, 5-watt yellow and 3-watt yellow light. This lamp is turned on according to the method that has been made. The results showed that the shrimp environmental method was successful at spawning time, which should have been when the sun had set to become noon. In addition, the results of fecundity were 270,909 to 288,909 eggs. The average hatching rate was 88%. Egg development occurs during 13 hours of being a nauplius.
